Storm Updates
On Tuesday, December 13, the City of Grapevine suffered severe damage due to two tornadoes that passed through the City. The following information details our most current updates. For those who have damages to their home or business to report, please view the assessment information in the (Individual State of Texas Assessment Tool) iSTAT link.
Our officers, in partnership with code compliance, are visiting neighborhoods that suffered damage and speaking with homeowners about how we are able to assist with their needs. This includes taking precautions when hiring contractors for repairs. Only work with local companies who will provide written estimates, give references, and proof of insurance and licensing.
Our damages from these tornadoes have been communicated to the County and the State. If small business loans are made available, we will share those details, otherwise, insurance is your primary means regarding any reconstruction.
We know there is still a lot of debris in yards. If you hire a contractor to perform repairs or tree trimming/cutting, those contractors should remove all waste upon project completion. Residents who perform repairs themselves or remove their own vegetative debris may place the debris on the curb on their normal bulk trash pickup day. Residents are reminded that workers will not go into yards to retrieve debris or trash. These items must be placed on the curb.
BULK TRASH COLLECTION
Republic will run a bulk trash pickup service daily until all items have been collected. Please get all vegetative and/or construction materials to the curb as soon as possible. Place items on the curb and not in your yard. Republic Services cannot go into your lawn to collect items.
PERMITS
Minor repairs do not require a permit. In the areas impacted by the tornado, permit fees will be waived.

We would like to thank some of our local businesses for providing food and drinks to our crews out working. Meat U Anywhere, Dutch Brothers Coffee in Grapevine, and Eatzi’s in Grapevine all provided meals or coffee for our teams. Many personally delivered them to areas where crews were working, knowing they would most likely not be able to take a break. We love you, Grapevine!
